Synopsis:Peasant-class parents Swami and Radha dream of giving their precocious son an elite education. They sell their village home to move to Mumbai, where they enroll their son at a school for the wealthy. Radha learns she has kidney disease, prompting Swami to work extra hours to pay for the necessary surgery. Radha uses the money instead to buy a rocking chair. Soon widowed and broke, Swami sets out to fulfill Radha's last wish: that their son find success in America.
